1st Annual Youth Retreat coming Nov. 29th

Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy has teamed up with SHS Pacifica Project to bring  you the 1st Annual Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Youth Retreat.  This will be a fun and very entertaining event provided for youth in our area.   We would like to encourage anyone intrested to attend or contact us. Details below.

Where: Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy *check our contact page for directions

When: November 29th starting @ 12pm-1:30pm

Who: This FREE event is for kids ages 5-12 years old

*Donations encouraged( Proceeds will go towadrs children's uniforms)

 

SBJJ Competition Team Results from The Revolution Tournament 11/8/08

Results:

Travis Mickelson-      White Belt Adult Superfeather  2nd Place

Patrick McCain-          No-Gi Beginner Light Heavy 3rd Place

Alex Pardon-               Blue Belt Heavy 3rd Place

Kellen Wheeler-         No-Gi Intermediate Lightweight 3rd Place

Jesse Vaughn-            Blue Belt Heavy 2nd Place
                                        No-Gi Intermediate Heavy 2nd Place

Zach Adamson-          Purple Belt Featherweight Champion
                                    No-Gi  Advanced Featherweight Champion 

 This was a great weekend for SBJJ's Competition Team.  The Revolution Tournament in Bonney Lake, Washington was the biggest the northwest has seen so far, with over 340+ competitors!  All six competition team members medaled.  This was Travis Mickelson's first tournament and Alex Padron and Kellen Wheelers first tournament as blue belts.  The whole team fought with alot of heart and determination and respresnted well.  Great work guys!!

Another World Class Seminar

Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy would like to thank Rafael Lovato Jr. for presenting another world class seminar on Saturday, October 18th. 

We would also like to thank all the seminar participants who made the drive out to attend the seminar and support us.  Also, a big thanks to Don Anderson from the Seaside Signal who was on hand to report this event to the community. 

SBJJ is also happy to announce the promotion of Derrek Missoni to Blue Belt. Derreck has been a long time student and friend and has shown huge improvment in the last year.  Congrats Derreck!


Oregon Open 08' Results

Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy had two students competing at the 08 Oregon Open on Oct. 11th.  Here are the results:

Patrick McCain- No-Gi Beg. Middle Weight  Champion

Patrick McCain- White Belt Middle Weight 2nd Place

Shiloh Roberts- Blue Belt Heavy Weight Champion

Shiloh Roberts- Blue Belt Open Weight 3rd Place

This was Patrick's first competition and we're really proud of his success. Shiloh has been on a winning streak lately and continued to show alot of heart this weekend. Great work guys!

Success in Ohio!

While competing in Ohio at the Saulo Ribeiro annual, Zach Adamson, instructor at the SBJJ Academy,  took gold in the featherweight division as a purple belt and teammate Shilo Roberts placed first for the gold as a blue belt in both the heavyweight division and the open weight class. Way to hold it down for Oregon and represent SBJJ!!!

Shiloh Roberts Places 3rd at American Nationals

Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu student Shiloh Roberts placed 3rd in the Heavy Weight Blue Belt Division at the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Carson, California on Sept. 20th.  Congrats Shiloh!

Seaside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is happy to annouce that Kellen Wheeler and Alex Padron were promoted to the rank of Blue Belt this summer. Kellen and Alex have an excellent work ethic and a great attitude towards training. Congratulations guys!
